Don't text and drive!
A literal spinning plate act, but with tedium! Love the concept, but had to steer right after three chapters.
one of the best pieces of horror literature i've ever read. one of the best horror "games" i've ever played. i streamed this to a small group of friends and we were all completely enthralled and horrified. my god.
Just spent over an hour typing this damn book.. CRASH THE CAR AND DIE. 😭😭😭💀
H.P.Fuck you
my hands hurt
Probably the best way to experience Lovecraft.
This game was awesome. And I think I have the only full recorded play through on the internet. Great game tho! Here is the playthrough
I did it!
...With the help of AutoHotkey ;P
Return to road, this is death
Love the game, wish there was a save feature though, that way I don't have to the the entire book in one sitting
I agree, a save feature would have been nice. ultimately it was one of those things that fell outside of the scope of Heatstroke being a 48 hour gamejam.
Originally the story needing to be transcribed was Moby Dick... Which was too long to even process into the game.
I don't know what engine you guys are using but I recommend using global values, like every time the player finishes a page of the book the value would update by 1 and that will save in a folder like a .ini and each number will be a specific page so when the player loads the game back in the they will be on the same page, it doesn't have to the exact spot the player left off at, just a checkpoint after each page
Heatstroke was developed in Unity.
Unfortunately on Heatstroke (and all of my projects) programming changes are outside my jurisdiction. Braden Banning is your man if you want to suggest and future changes to Heatstroke.
His personal website is linked on this page above and he can be reached at his email: Braden.Banning@gmail.com
thank you, you guys keep up the good work
I need more! Awesome concept
does it end?
I hope so.
WTF, cool game though
